Day… uh, I lost count
Today was a very big day. The moving van from Berkeley arrived. It was 60 feet long, but our stuff was squashed in a small section of it. We were going crazy because we had only a few things here and the house was so-o-o-o echo-o-o-oey.
We had only recently unpacked all our boxes so it was really hard to get about 5 times more.

I’ve been really enjoying seeing things that I wouldn’t see back in California. For instance, In CA, we do see a lot of “No Left Turn between X-o’clock and Y-o’clock”. I’m used to seeing that. However, is it worth even putting this sign up?

Also, I’ve upped the thermostat on our hot-water heater and in the process, saw a great example of an effective warning label…

To be honest, I don’t even know what this means, I just know I don’t want to perish in flames when it happens.
Lush
It is so hot here, it’s hard to believe. The humidity was way, way up today as it rained during the night. I’m emptying the dehumidifier about every 16 hours and pouring out a good 2 gallons of water each time (this is what collects in the basement)
A lovely side-effect of all this is an incredibly lush environment. I saw yesterday, a bumblebee the size of an almond as well as a pile of ants in the yard. Everything looks like you took a photo with the “vivid” mode set on your camera. The air smells wonderful and at night, to cool the house down, I open all the windows, including one in our bedroom. I always tell Marn that it’s like we are camping. At night you can hear the crickets and if you look up at the sky and there are no clouds (rare), you can see the stars.
